Like New York, there are some areas where you'll see garbage bags on the sidewalk, awaiting pickup.
Most of the main streets in Tokyo are super-clean, Disney-Clean. We spotted a city employee stooping down to pick up a few hairs that were on the sidewalk (true!).
If you are walking around, and need to throw something away, good luck. Trash cans are hard to find.
Look near the drink machines for a trash or recycling bin.
