This place has a bit of a bad rap, when you look at other web sites. The trick with Saigon
is to dive deep into the menu - avoid the "specials" which are Polish versions of Chinese dishes.
We stopped at the location which is located off of Podwale, on the west side of town, by the train station.
From a distance, it looks like a shanty. Beer is not served .. but - the shack next door serves ice
cold Zywiec, which we ported over to our table outside the restaurant.
We started with the "chili soup", the first one on the menu. It was actually a tasty, spicy,
Asian miso soup .. very good.
Next, we sampled beer-basted beef (wolowina) with onions, and the seared duck, which was served
on a steaming hot metal plate. Both dishes were excellent - comparable to what you can
get back in the States.
A great meal, indeed we will be back.
