I live in the neighborhood and love the sidewalk cafe and the half priced bottles of wine on Tuesday and Thursday. They just came out with a new dinner menu and the flank steak and BBQ pork tenderloin are my new favorites - RS, 06/09/2004

BURGERS, PANINI’S & SALADS GALORE AS JOHN’S PLACE UNVEILS EXPANDED LUNCH MENU CHICAGO (July 27, 2004) The introduction of grilled panini sandwiches, two new burgers and a total of 10 entrée-size salads highlight the new lunch menu unveiled this week at John’s Place, 1200 W. Webster, Chicago. “Our customers are getting more of what they love about John’s Place,” said owner John Manilow. “We’ve expanded our lunch menu to include more variety, including additional salads and burgers, both extremely popular during the summer months. So, whether it’s a chopped chicken salad or turkey burger topped with the works you’re craving, we’ve got you covered.” A brand new addition to the lunch menu is a grilled panini sandwich available in four varieties, including tuna, turkey and cheese, ham & cheese and grilled vegetables. a lunch special, the panini soon became a crowd favorite and thus made the permanent lunchtime menu. Celebrating 10 years at the same Lincoln Park location, John’s Place also introduced a new dinner menu this past May with several new entrees including Line Caught Wild Alaskan Salmon, Skillet Steamed Tilapia and Marinated Flank Steak. Weekend brunch remains a Lincoln Park favorite with omelets and scrambles made from free-range Amish chicken eggs, French toast, pumpkin pancakes and more. The restaurant’s popular sidewalk café seats 55 and is open for dinner, lunch and weekend brunch. Ongoing weekly specials include ½-price bottles of wine every Tuesday and Thursday, and Mexican Fiesta Wednesdays with $3.00 margaritas, $2.00 bottles of Corona and rotating Mexican dinner specials. Hours for John's Place are Tuesday through Thursday, 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., Friday, 11:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m., Saturday, 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Monday.
